Evaluation Q1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

At the beginning of the media course, I learnt about three theorists (Andrew Goodwin, Laura Mulvey and Carole Vernalis) Once my group and I established a song 'Get Down With The Trumpets' I could then put the   suitable theory's into practice. Goodwin and Vernalis' theory interlinked very appropriately with my video;
Due to the genre (grime-indie) the artists image and the brand image I was trying to portray, I found that amplification wold work perfectly to show the artists fun and jokey behavior.
A good example of this is when Adam is filmed going into a shop and picking up a jam jar, when the lyrics say 'Pump this we're jamming'.
The reason I believe Vernalis' theory interlinks well is, because the use of the obvious edits add to the bubbly jokey portrayal.
Some examples of obvious edits I implemented and the inspiration for the edits are below.

Above is an obvious edit in Franz Ferdinand - Cant stand pain.

In my music video many obvious edits are used, a reoccurring edit was taken from Franz Ferdinand's music video. Above you will see an example of the original scene transition, and how it was applied to my music video.

Another example of an obvious edit by The Game

The beginning of my music video was edited to the beat of the song, purposely to keep the audiences attention, similar to the beginning of The Wanted's music video - Glad you came.

A base track was also used in my video, similarly to most music videos, an example I blogged about previously Culture Club -Karma Chameleon.
