I think there are clear visual links between my main product and my ancillary texts. For example simple things such as the font used. The bubble style font really emphasises certain aspects of our artists personality/characteristics. They have quite bold personalities and are very playful. This is shown through the bright colours used in the ancillary texts - two of which are primary colours - and also the bright colours shown throughout my main product.
The first visual link is the obvious, we use the same artist in the ancillary work as well as the media product. We expose our artists to our target audience repeatedly in order to keep the audience familiar with their faces so they can be easily recognised in the future. I thought this was extremely important as they are new artists being introduced to the world so they need to build an immediate connection with the audience with their first song. We did this through different shots, including a consistent mid shot of both artist. We also did close up's of the artists in the studio. This meant that a lot of direct eye contact with the audience was formed making it a lot more personal.

As you can see the original artists use similar shots in their video and also in their album cover. This also influenced me as I realised their costumes (mise en scene) played a big role in identifying what genre 'Double Trouble's' music fell under. The hoodies, caps and big footwear portrayed the type of image we wanted to display. (Urban/Hip Hop)

In the music video there is a real connection between the artists and this is portrayed through the playful behaviour of the artists. There is also times in which the artists have serious faces in the video. We thought it was important that the artists faced the camera in the album cover, however, lightened the mood with the bright colours surrounding them. The different types of behaviour is shown at the beginning and end of our music video. At the beginning the artists use a trumpet and a racket to imitate the sound being played. This shows the humorous side of our artists. On the other hand, at the end the artists show a more serious side when they stare straight at the camera with a stern look. There is a clear visual link in my digipak as in the CD cover they show their serious side staring at the camera/audience, however in my advert they are being playful/putting their hands up as they are shrugging. It is almost as though they don't understand what is happening which is quite funny considering it is for an advert for their album.
