We completed our Rough cut on Friday; it’s about 1 minute long. We have all the base tracks & additional clips in place but we haven’t edited the chorus or the remaining two verses yet. The footage we have so far has been viewed by the media teachers present on Friday and we were told the footage looks good however the special effects the rest of the edit need to be set in place as the deadlines next Friday.
The main criticism we faced was that our beginning shot is too long and there needs to be jump cuts introducing the other locations shown in the first verse. Tony said that one clip jumps out at the audience because we go from a dark background in south bank to a really bright background in Rosemary. To adjust this we are going to introduce the rosemary scene from the beginning so it isn’t as surprising when we cut to it after. The beginning of the video will see me & Lorenzo in the studio, then the camera will focus on the studio TV screen and a still image will come to life at this point the music start.
