Filming On Mon 14th of November

We filmed on Monday 14th of November as our last base tracks for our music video. The footage collected has been successful and is likely to appear in the final version of the video.
We all met up on Essex Road, and then made our way down to Regents Canal. As it was s late and not the ideal location we chose not to film directly on the canal pathway but went to Gainsborough studios where the lighting was well suited and the location matched the theme of the video better. We set up and started filming directly on the stairs that lead to a walk path on the canal. We filmed 2 base tracks of me standing on the stairs performing in different positions. We then plan to edit this and make a fade of me standing in two places while performing as shown in the Drake video ‘Forever’.
Whilst filming me & Reem decided to continue one of our original ideas that were to illustrate the lyrics ‘were jamming’ & ‘....still alcy’s’ by filming me holding a bottle of alcohol and a jar of jam. We did this in a local shop called ‘Co Op’. We had to ask for permission, when granted we filmed an over the shoulder shot of me collecting the items. When editing, an idea of ours is to make it look like someone was filming me whilst I collected the items, in the sense that on the screen it will show a recording sign and be in black & white.
We then went to Rosemary Gardens and started filming in the tennis court that has a good background of graffiti relating to our earlier location in Southbank. Here we tried to mix up our shots by getting more low angle and tracking shots; the only disappointment is that we haven’t been able to get any high angle shots. We sis however incorporate our idea of having people following while I performed (an idea taken from Nas ‘I can’ & J. Coles ‘Who Dat’ videos)
The downsides of the filming session were that Lorenzo over slept so an opportunity to film him performing was lost; meaning that we have less base tracks for him. Having said this he is only meant to perform one verse therefore it won’t affect our final video too much. The other problem we faced came in the form of camera lighting. As we didn’t have the attachable light to go on top of the camera and the portable lights ran out within 10 minutes so we had some dark footage and had to change location quickly.
