Split Screen - Trial One

As some of our footage was saved as MP4 and took a while to change the files we used this time to practice some of the editing we plan to include in our final music video.
We attempted to use a fade in and out of Adam and learned some rules we need to follow in order to make it work effectively.

To do this well you must first ensure that your camera is on a steady tripod. Next to help you, you can put markers on the floor (selotape) in order to see where your artist should stand to be in frame of the camera. You must always make sure that your lighting remains the same and noone interrupts and walks past the filming as they have done in the trial video above.

You then add all the clips and layer them on final cut pro on top of each other then crop them so that they fit in perfectly with each other. A mistake we made in our video is that we left a gap which left a black strip through the middle right of the video.

This practice helped us learn what not to do and what must be done to carry out effective editing and achieve the highest marks.
